Deputy Director, National Resources Defense Council
Patricia Sullivan is our longest-serving board member, having joined Ploughshares Fund in 1985. As a staff member of the Natural Resources Defense Council (which she still serves as Deputy Director), she was closely involved with one of Ploughshares’ early successes, the funding of the collaboration between NRDC and the Soviet Academy of Sciences to prove that underground nuclear tests could be detected, and that a test ban treaty could be verified. In addition to working to protect the planet, Sullivan is an advisory director of the Metropolitan Opera. She is a graduate of Harvard College.
