Meet 12 Women Working for Peace

Philanthropists, authors, artists, mothers and advocates; these amazing women are leading the way towards the peace  and security of a world without nuclear weapons.

Women's Security Network

Women today are taking a leading role in deciding the future of nuclear policy. Whether it's Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton's leadership, or Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller's negotiations for powerful new arms control efforts, or Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) pushing legislation through the Senate, women are at the forefront of efforts to reduce and ultimately eliminate nuclear weapons.

Composed of leading women philanthropists, the Women's Security Network funds grants specifically designed to inspire, educate and train women to take the lead in the nuclear security field. The Women's Security Network also plays a leading role in Ploughshares Fund's Mother's Day for Peace Campaign. This unique effort seeks to reclaim the originally intended meaning of Mother's Day: peace and disarmament.

Together, we can make a difference. Find out more or join us today.
