Saving Pakistan: Samina Ahmed in France 24

In an article for France 24, Samina Ahmed of the Ploughshares-funded International Crisis Group argues that “the international community's inability to respond quickly enough [to the refugee crisis in Pakistan] has created a relief vacuum - which radical organisations are already filling.”  Ahmed continues, “If Pakistan is going to emerge from this crisis a more stable country and a stronger democracy, all assistance efforts - relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction - have to be civilian-led.” While support for movement against the Taliban continues, she concludes, “Islamabad and its international partners cannot afford to miss this chance.”
