Bridget Moix [2]of the Friends Committee on National Legislation [3]testified before Congress [4]on improving the U.S. ability to peacefully prevent deadly conflict by funding diplomacy, development, and international cooperation. Moix urged support for the proposed expansion of the diplomatic corps; a Crisis Response Fund in the State Department; elevating development assistance as a core pillar of foreign policy; and healthy international and regional organizations that help prevent and respond to crises. She concluded [5], “These small investments in DDI – diplomacy, development, and international cooperation – could save billions of dollars and countless lives.”
