President names WMD czar

Less than a week into his presidency, Barack Obama has reportedly named Gary Samore, vice president of the Council on Foreign Relations and former National Security Council senior director, to a post that President Bush never got around to filling, the congressionally mandated position of  coordinator for the prevention of WMD proliferation and terrorism, or "czar."
