State Department - Toward a Nuclear-Free World

The State Department website is featuring an online forum called Toward a Nuclear-Free World with information on U.S. and Russian arsenals, their decline, and U.S.-Russian arms control milestones. The forum also features expert analysis nuclear disarmament, including Ploughshares Fund grantee Sharon Squassoni, and former grantee Rose Gottemoeller.  Experts call for three key steps toward a nuclear-free world, including the new Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) with Russia, ratification by the United States Senate of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT)  and reducing the availability of materials needed to produce nuclear weapons, including a Fissile Material Cut-Off Treaty.  Join the discussion here.
