Cara Marie Wagner is a senior program officer at Ploughshares Fund, where she manages grantmaking portfolios focused on nuclear policy, the elevation of women and diverse voices in the nuclear policy field, and conflict prevention and regional security. She is also a co-lead of Ploughshares Fund’s Equity Rises.

Prior to joining Ploughshares Fund in 2015, she worked with a variety of international education, gender, human rights, and security focused organizations, holding positions in both development and research. She has a Master’s of Science in Global Studies and International Affairs, specialized in conflict resolution and international security with an emphasis on armed conflict and conflict early warning in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She also received her degree in International Affairs with a focus on foreign policy and Western Europe and a Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
