Activists paint grim picture of U.S. in Afghanistan

Zia Mian, a Pakistani physicist and professor at the Ploughshares-funded Program on Science and Global Security at Princeton University, spoke at a public forum called “Afghanistan 101” in Princeton, NJ.  Mian said that by sending an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, Obama is missing an opportunity to transform U.S. foreign policy in a region struggling with a history of colonialism.  "Everyone from the region is deeply distressed."
