FCNL testifies before Congress on peaceful prevention
Bridget Moix of the Friends Committee on National Legislation testified before Congress on improving the U.S. ability to peacefully prevent deadly conflict by funding diplomacy, development, and international cooperation. Moix urged support for the proposed expansion of the diplomatic corps; a Crisis Response Fund in the State Department; elevating development assistance as a core pillar of foreign policy; and healthy international and regional organizations that help prevent and respond to crises. She concluded, “These small investments in DDI – diplomacy, development, and international cooperation – could save billions of dollars and countless lives.”
