Louise Arbour to become Crisis Group president

The Honourable Louise Arbour will serve as the next president and CEO of the Ploughshares-funded International Crisis Group.  Arbour has previously served as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, and Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Arbour, who was a board member of Crisis Group for many years, will replace Gareth Evans, who will return to Australia to serve as co-chair of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament.
