Ploughshares Fund Awards $150,000 in Grants to Support Countdown to Zero
Countdown to Zero, a new film about the nuclear threat premieres this Friday in New York and Washington, DC. It opens nationwide in forty additional cities in the coming weeks.
Ploughshares Fund has given over $150,000 to approximately 32 grantees to promote Countdown to Zero. Our grantees are taking a variety of actions to help spread the word about the film, including:
- Organizing screenings and events
- Engaging local and national media to see and promote the film
- Drawing policymakers and thought leaders to theaters
- Developing postcards and petitions to urge filmgoers to speak in favor of New START ratification
- Buying advertising space
- Tabling to publicize the film
