Zia Mian Receives Linus Pauling Legacy Award

Ploughshares Fund extends its most heartfelt congratulations to Zia Mian of Princeton University on receiving the 2014 Linus Pauling Legacy Award

Mian has been an inspiring and dedicated leader in working to reduce the spread and risks from nuclear weapons. He has been particularly effective in working to call attention and promote solutions to the risky nuclear standoff between Pakistan and India. Mian also provides immense value as a mentor to young scientists who will be an essential part of reducing nuclear risks in the future.

Ploughshares Fund has supported Mian’s work for more than a decade for his work in fissile material analysis, summer symposia to exchange ideas among international scholars, and South Asian nuclear risk reduction.

Please join us in wishing Zia well and saluting his tireless work and efforts in reducing and ultimately eliminating nuclear risks. Ploughshares Fund is humbled by being able to support such inspiring and effective leadership.
