Albright, Aslan analyze events in Iran on Newshour

The Newshour's Margaret Warner turned to Ploughshares Fund board member Reza Aslan and grantee David Albright for analysis of the week's events in Iran.  While both agreed that some of President Ahmadinejad's claims of progress on the nuclear front were "laughable," they differed on the signficance of the announcement.  Also joining the conversation was Flynt Leverett of the New American Foundation, who downplayed the pro-reform movement in Iran. Aslan acknowledged that while "nobody is talking about regime change or the collapse of the government," he insisted that the movement "could conceivably create a government that's more open, less internationally isolated; that is more democratic than it is today," and could give rise to an Iran that is more integrated into the international community.  Watch the complete interview:
